The mega event FES Argentina, organized by Future Energy Summit, brought together more than 500 leaders and representatives from the renewable energy sector in the region, in order to make opportunities visible and explore new sustainable businesses and investments on the path to energy transition.
Arctech Solar, a manufacturer and provider of solutions for fixed structure systems and solar tracking systems, was one of the companies that participated in the meeting, where they analyzed the “keys to the efficiency of solar energy in its different project scales” and how Argentina is positioned within the renewable industry in Latin America.
“We consider Argentina to be one of the priority markets in the region. It has become an attractive but also demanding country. Just as the development of the country has new demands, the development of products with which we collaborate with the panels, investors and our clients drive innovation,” said Olvia Malagon, technical sales manager North & Latin America of Arctech.
From the firm founded in China they trust that this impulse is linked to the formula to face the pressure that the solar modules and trackers receive, product of the “high wind speeds in Argentina” and that the solutions are reliable for the market.
The innovation of Arctech was that the tracker is a little more rigid, but at the same time protects the solar panel; and the conclusion was to change the safety position, that is, how the panel and the structure will be protected when it receives the maximum wind loads.
“Therefore, instead of the tracker resisting high wind pressures at 30° or 45°, we changed it to almost parallel to the ground, which directly reduces all the load that the modules receive and by default we protect both solutions and achieve efficiency and durability of the solar plants,” explained Malagon during FES Argentina.
On the other hand, Arctech focused on the importance of being in constant contact with panel and inverter manufacturers to achieve efficiency and facilitate processes for customers, as well as to provide better field service.
“The trend is that where customer experience and satisfaction is completed is not during the sales process or the technical design of the product, but in the on-site experience, in service when the tracker is installed,” said the company’s technical sales manager for North & Latin America.
“We are implementing a customer service in Argentina through local equipment, completing the processes that involve logistics, installation and other issues. We have to focus on on-site customer service and agrovoltaic projects will also be interesting, so possibly some solutions can be found,” she concluded.
